Robyn Bretl has been passionate about yoga since she has been seven years old.  Her mom, Deb, started in 1988 after taking the advice from her doctor to start yoga to avoid carpel tunnel surgery.  Having watched her mom for two years, while the pressures of school was mounting, Robyn joined her mom every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday to practice yoga in the comforts of her home.  And with no yoga mat!  Twenty-seven years later, in 2014, Robyn received her Registered Yoga Teacher 200hr (RYT-200hr) certificate from Spirit of the Lake in Excelsior, MN, and began teaching at the YMCA in Wausau and Weston, Greenheck Field House, Monk Gardens, 400 Block, and member of the Wausau Area Yoga Association.

She began lightbodY, llc in 2014, to bring awareness of yoga and healthy living to everyone in the world. In 2015, she earned her Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher certificate from YogaEd. in Honolulu, HI to teach children of all ages.  She teaches children’s yoga at Greenheck Field House, Everest Adventure Care’s after school program for the six D.C. Everest elementary schools, Everest Adventure Care Camp, Boys and Girls Club, and YMCA.

For Robyn, “teaching yoga to kids has been an opportunity of a life time.  To give the gift back and know you are planting seeds into the growth of each child gives me a sense of peace and joy.”

Her specialized continuing training in 2016 from the Baron Baptiste Institute in Minneapolis, MN has given her the opportunity to apply hands-on adjustments to deepen a participants practice. Today, she is studying for her RYT-500hr from YogaFaith and will graduate June 2018.

Robyn enjoys to teach an all levels yoga class placing emphasizes on breathing, stretching, and relaxing to calm and connect both body and
mind. Her goal is for everyone to try yoga at least once in their life since it’s a practice we can continue throughout our entire life.  Robyn hopes people will never get discouraged by the images advertisers use to contort the body into ‘Olympic-like Yoga’.  Her philosophy is to ‘maintain’ our individual body’s range of motion and if we add balance, strength, flexibility it is a benefit. What we don’t use, we will loose!

Besides yoga, Robyn enjoys playing piano and drums, reading, skiing, tennis, golf, running, lifting weights, traveling, being outdoors, cooking, knitting, art, history, movies, automobile enthusiast, playing with her nieces and nephews, being with her family, friends, two cats, husband, and having a personal relationship with God.
